These photographs are part of the project I worked on, during my last visit in 2014 in Nepal. The project “Sacred Monkeys” was photographed at the Swayambunath Temple in Kathmandu.

A part of this collection was sold to help funding the non-profit dZi-Foundation. This foundation works hand-in-hand with remote Himalayan communities for sustainable community development. After the earthquake in april 2015, dZi focuses on the long-term reconstruction of the hardest-hit and hardest to reach communities. They rebuild schools, homes and local infrastructure. DZI-Foundation works in partnership with remote communities in Nepal to create lasting improvements in their quality of life. They accomplish this through implementing community-driven programs that improve public facilities, public health, income levels and educational opportunities while preserving community unity, the natural environment, and indigenous culture.
