The Bikepacker

Stefan Maertens aka "Foane" is one crazy dude... A goodhearted man, a loyal friend and most notable, a passionated athlete.  He is one of those dirtbag bikepackers, cycling those extreme competitions like the Transcontinental, the Navad1000 or the legendary Tour Divide.

 

This is a visual reportage we did for the national press in Belgium. He entered for the second time the mother of all bikepacking-races, The Tour Divide. The race is a ultra-cycling challenge to pedal solo and self-supported the length of Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. This as fast as possible. The trail starts in Banff Canada and ends in Antelope Wells, USA. It has a distance of 4418km. Foane ended in edition 2016 on the 6th place. He finished it in - 16 days 13h 24' -
